The Financial Aid Assistant/Loan Coordinator is a full-time, hourly position in the Financial Aid Office. This position is currently a hybrid position after at least six months of successful in-office experience.
The successful candidate must be reliable and punctual, have exceptional customer service skills, strong oral and written communication skills, the utmost attention to detail, relatable proven technological experience (preferably with a Student Information System), and the ability to multi-task in a very fast-paced, busy environment.

Essential Functions
- Run daily COD reports out of Colleague that are related to loan origination and reconciliation.
- Certify private student loans using ELMOne.
- Originate Federal Direct Student Loans and PLUS Loans in Colleague.
- Review NSLDS and COD records to confirm Federal Direct Loan remaining eligibility.
- Stay abreast of current regulations and guidelines pertaining to federal student aid programs.
- Effectively counsel and guide students and families on all facets of the financial aid process via email, telephone, and in person.
- Work collaboratively with other student service departments on campus.
- Help monitor the Financial Aid inbox, replying to students in a timely manner after careful review and assessment of the student's inquiry.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- An associate's degree will be considered if the candidate has commensurate experience.

- Higher education experience, particularly in a Financial Aid Office.
- Ellucian Colleague experience.
- Familiarity with NSLDS and COD (preferred but not required).
- Strong commitment to customer service.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Word and Excel.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, on the telephone, and in all written communications.
- Proven ability to work in compliance with institutional, federal, and state regulations.
- Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion, diplomacy, and good judgment.
- Ability to work independently and follow directions with little supervision.
