Job Description:

Salary Range: $72592.00-$84208.00

Vitalant is seeking a results-driven, customer-focused, and business-minded Communication Manager to play a vital role in our community while significantly contributing to our life-saving mission.


Your impact as a Communication Manager is vital. Contribute to Viatalants life-saving mission by supervising and coordinating media, public relations, crisis communications, government affairs, special event planning, and volunteer management. These efforts are directed toward achieving the organization's annual collection goals.

What to Expect

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm, occasional evenings/weekends as needed

As a Communication Manager you'll get to

  • Develops, executes, and measures the effectiveness of strategic public relations and special events to support the company's collection goals.
  • Oversee the communication in the assigned region, providing feedback as a part of the national communications strategy.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with the media to facilitate organization's media and public relations objectives.
  • Serve as a primary spokesperson and coordinate media contact and communications with other spokespersons in the organization as appropriate.
  • Recruit, develop and leverage community-based committees and contacts to assist with awareness, networking, outreach, and collaboration.
  • Manage events for donor and coordinator recognition, and blood donation events.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing preferred
  • Four years related experience required
  • Two years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Valid in-state driver's license
