Tableau BI Developer

Position Overview

In this role analysts will be responsible for providing Tableau reporting solutions that address needs of Front Office, Risk, Middle Office and other

teams across the organization.

The candidate will be part of the team of Tableau experts responsible for establishing best practices for Tableau development and serving as a go-to team

to assist Tableau developers in other departments with challenging Tableau related questions.

A proven track record of strong communication and people skills is a must as this role requires heavy interaction with business users as well as members of various technology teams.

The candidate will be accountable for design, development, implementation, and post-implementation

support.

The candidates are expected to have good understanding of statistical and financial analysis concepts, be creative and attentive to details, stay on top of the latest Tableau features, and be proactive thinkers enjoying working in a challenging fast-paced environment with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Technical Requirements:

  • Tableau Certified Data Analyst or a similar Tableau certification is required

  • Experience troubleshooting dashboards’ performance issues using Tableau and non-Tableau tools

  • Experience working with Tableau Server REST API

  • Working knowledge of SQL

  • Experience with scripting languages and/or Python is highly preferrable

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics or Mathematics

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop Dashboards/Metrics reports using Tableau platform

  • Gather, interpret and analyze business requirements and use cases, develop concepts/mock-ups via iterative practices, and design reporting solutions (dashboards, scorecards etc.) that meet use cases/requirements, as well as achieve ease of usability and self-service capabilities

  • Perform data integration, write efficient SQL Queries, and develop/deploy reporting solutions that apply data visualization standards and best practices, and meets quality standards

  • Create documentation and technical specifications for reporting solutions

  • Perform routine maintenance support, and troubleshoot reported issues as well as determine root causes, and implement counter measures

  • Execute performance-tuning to achieve optimal performance

  • Analyze and resolve cross-functional data issues

  • Work in a fast-paced Agile environment especially as it pertains to new idea generation

  • Collect data, analyzes and report for early detection and correction, continual improvement.

  • Develop reports in a consistent best practices format

  • Monitor and troubleshoot escalated support tickets
