Overview: As the Allocation Analyst, you will take lead in optimizing inventoryallocation and distribution strategies to meet customerdemand and drive sales during peak seasons. Thisrole requires a keen understanding of inventorymanagement, market trends, and customer behaviorto ensure the right products are available in the rightstores at the right time. You will manage the distribution of inventory tomaximize the likelihood of sales and sell-throughwhile consideringstrategic objectivessuchas store priority. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in inventory management, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Seasonal Allocation and Planning:
Oversee businesses with 500-1,000 SKUs, driving up to $200M annually
Develop and maintain demand forecasts by analyzing historical sales trends, seasonal patterns, and market drivers
Monitor forecast accuracy, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to improve results
Contribute to process improvements by identifying opportunities for automation, enhanced forecasting models, and best practices
Coordinatewith buying, planning, visual toplanfor seasonal set and refresh allocations and align demand forecasts with business objectives
Optimize the allocation of products topreventstockouts and reduce excess inventoryat end ofseason or product life cycle
Review the allocation ofmerchandise to warehouses and stores based on demandforecasts, sales trends, and optimal inventory levels
Support theexecution of seasonal strategiesandmarketed events by allocating the right productsto stores and online channels as per themarketing and merchandising plans
Inventory Analysis:
Monitorstore salesperformance,tracking sell-through rates.Review opportunities with manager and align on the necessaryadjustments for upcomingseasons
Collaborate with manager to identifyslow-moving items andrecommend actions toaddress these issues(hold in DC, markdown,floor placement moves)
Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate forecast performance and inventory insights to leadership.
Communication and Collaboration:
Cross-collaborate closely with (but not limited to) Buying, Planning, Visual Merchandising and Supply Chain to ensure effective communication and coordination
Partner with your manager to provide regular updates onallocation effectiveness throughout the season with your cross-functional partners
Support a collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented environment with a cross-functional team focused on driving sales and optimal store presentation levels
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field required.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in inventory management
Effective cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
Ability to analyze data and provide actionable feedback
A strong problem-solving skillset
Capable of prioritizing workload in a fast paced and dynamic environment
Sense of urgency and excitement to be a part of a high-growth retail environment
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to learn systems quickly. Power BI or Tableau experience a bonus
Must be Philadelphia-based for in-office requirements
