Dietz & Watson, Inc. is a 4th generation family-owned and operated preparer of delicatessen foods, founded in 1939 and committed to quality above all else.Our team is currently looking for a Transport Refrigeration Technician in our climate temperate garage and truck wash located in Northeast Philadelphia has a space for your toolbox to call home.The ideal candidate should have previous experience as a mechanic/technician in the transport refrigeration industry. This career opportunity is available for a self-motivated person with strong work ethics.Primary Duties:Perform repair and maintenance on reefer units in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.Perform repairs and diagnostics on starting and charging system, cooling and re-charge, and electrical including common fault codes. Repairs include performing leak detection procedures, compressor replacements, soldering refrigerant lines, evaporator/condenser replacements in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.Conform to all safety and health standardsComply with state vehicle and DOT vehicle requirementsEnsure that refrigeration systems are operating in compliance with safety and environmental regulationsRequirements:1-2 years of Transport Refrigeration Technical, or equivalent, experienceValid driver’s license with a safe driving recordMust be willing to work overtimeMust have own toolsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAttention to detail and highly organized
Minimum Requirements
Physical Requirements Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Capability to stand in one place for 80% of the shift (8 hours per day)Capability to walk throughout department for 20% of the shift (8 hours per day)Capability to lift to 100 lbs. on a frequent basis with reasonable accommodation.Position requires listening to and diagnosing equipment functionality by soundRequires the frequent use of both hands and arms.Capability to bend, twist, and squat as needed throughout the shift (8 hours per day)Must be able to work in a Safety Sensitive Position Compensation: Pay depends on experience (weekly pay via direct deposit).
