Position Summary
Career Readiness Learning Objectives:
Equity and Inclusion: The student worker will help address food insecurities that are inclusive and equitable to all students in a way that fosters positive change for the university.
Professionalism: The student will complete safety training which includes the importance of confidentiality when working with student shoppers. This position requires interaction with students and employees of the university. The student worker is expected to dress professionally and be on time for events.
Communication: Clear and effective communication with other students and the advisor regarding the needs of students facing food insecurity.

- Assist with the distribution of food pantry items.
- Monitor the food pantry email and respond to requests.
- Assist with Second Harvest food pickups and distribution.
-Assist with Summer CSA Program distribution.
- Maintain a written inventory of food donations.
-Complete training for PantrySoft inventory system.
-Assist with PantrySoft implementation and updating inventory. Discard damaged and expired items as needed.
- Provide a written note of gratitude to the donors.
- Ensure safety compliance by checking expiration dates and quality of packaging before stocking and distribution.
- Attend community events to promote well-being as appropriate.
- Attend events to promote Hunger-free Campus Programming.
-Educate students about Hunger-free Programming available on campus.
- Provide additional training on Gannon’s food pantry policy and procedures manual.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Good Academic Standing
- Demonstrate appreciation for teamwork
- Demonstrate ability to work with various campus departments and community members
- Good communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Excel spreadsheets
- Experience with food pantry/food bank procedures
Physical Demands
- This position requires light lifting, up to 10 pounds. Student must be able to navigate the work environment with ease, including bending and lifting
- The ability to utilize office materials, including the standard use of a personal computer/laptop, telephone, and other supplies is required
